Undercar Products Group wins 12-year tax break on $5.7 million building project
Redevelopment of a vacant industrial plant at 4247 Eastern Ave. SE will include construction of up to 11 silos, 15 feet wide and 40 feet tall, to store pellets for plastic injection molding of auto parts.
Undercar Products Group Inc. has been given a 12-year tax break on the $5.7 million investment that also will raise the roof of the building from 16 feet to 32 feet. The landowner, Oak Brook, Ill.-based Franklin Partners LLC, got the property designated as a brownfield last month, which will help get state tax credits for the renovation.
By relocating from 900 Hynes Ave. SW in Grand Rapids, Undercar expects to add 25 jobs to a work force of 140.
